City of Napa NewsWeekly - Did you know it is illegal to put “sharps” (needles, syringes with needles, disposable lancets) in the trash? Did you know that when unused medicines are flushed down the drain, they end up in our waterways and pollute the environment?

To make it easy to safely dispose of sharps and medicines, the City of Napa, County of Napa, Napa Recycling & Waste Services, Napa County Recycling & Waste Services, Napa Sanitation District, Drug Enforcement Administration and Queen of the Valley Medical Center sponsor a Sharps and Pharmaceutical Disposal Event on Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center, 1000 Trancas Street in Napa.

All sharps and household-generated pharmaceutical waste, including controlled substances, will be accepted at this one-time event.

For more information on how to properly dispose of syringes, lancets and other sharps, please contact Napa County Environmental Management Department at 253-4471 or visit www.NapaRecycling.com.
